Back by popular demand - Porto Autumn 2025 School Trip: Friday 24th - Sunday 26th October
NYN School trips are one of the best ways to get to know the community, make new friends and taste so much wine you declare a detox (rarely implemented).
Our first vintage is a special one in our hearts and was extremely popular with our trade customers and members alike (the dictator and democratic is fully sold out!). With that in mind, we are excited to return to Porto for our Autumn 2025 school trip.
Vintage 1 was made in collaboration with Soalheiro and the head winemaker and son duo have now left to establish VineVinu, a unique winery, exploring the versatility of Alvarinho and capturing its essence across different terroirs, from the sea to the mountains. This school trip will centre around a visit to their vineyards and winery.
Of course, as with all school trips, this adventure goes beyond a single event and is about exploring the region, its history, culture, food (and a little bit of wine!).
Here is a semi-draft itinerary and estimated cost for the trip so you can start planning and make a £100 deposit to secure your limited place. We have grouped events together so you can choose to skip certain events if you like. If you want to be extra helpful to the organiser, please book by 30th July 2025.
Saturday - Port Tasting + VineVinu visit!
12:30 - 20:00 | Est. £140
The main event!
We can’t go to Porto without Port tasting, so we will visit a classic Port house with a special cooperage tour.
This is followed by the main event of a visit to Vine Vinu vineyards and winery. This will include a large meal to complement the full wine tasting, including from the barrels and learning about the experiments and innovative approach from one of our favourite winemakers, and Not Yet Named co-founder, Manuel Cerdeira. Price includes port tasting, transport to and from VineVinu, extensive wine tasting (7+ wines) and a full meal.
Sunday Douro valley winery visits
10:00 - 19:00 | Est. £140
We will visit two of Douro valley’s best wineries, as recommended by local wine makers! We will likely start the tour with a special tasting and lunch with the wine making team themselves at Niepoort, followed by a terroir tasting at another winery.
Price includes private transport, 10+ wines and a 3+ course meal from chef Dona Maria da Luz.
To secure your place, click secure your place to pay your £100 deposit. There is a form where you can select your initial preferences of events. We are also assessing interest for a fine dining experience on the Friday night and a historical walking tour on Saturday - watch this space!
You will be asked to confirm your selection and make your final payment by the end of August.
We are looking to secure a group discount at a central hotel group - more information will be shared with those who have booked and details will be added here when available.
If anyone would like transport arranged to/from the airport, or any other questions/ideas, please email dee@notyetnamedwineco.com.
