South Africa Wine Pick Up Party: Sat 1st November
Saturday 1st November: 17:00 - 23:00
The Winemakers Club, 41a Farringdon St, London EC4A 4AN
Not Yet Named Wine Co is still holding out as a democracy in these uncertain times; our members vote on every major winemaking decision, from vineyard picks to blends to labels. Each vintage is made collaboratively with a different winemaker every six months from all across the world and each bottle tells the story of democratic winemaking in action.
Our Pick Up Parties are where it all comes together — members collect their wines, guests join the community, and everyone enjoys an evening of tasting and most importantly having fun.
This Edition
For the 2024 South African vintage, we partnered with the legendary Adi Badenhorst to craft two unique expressions of Chenin Blanc from the Blox vineyard; one aged in concrete egg and one in a neutral oak barrel.
The vineyard, grapes, and winemaker are the same — the only difference is the vessel. How often do you get the chance to taste wines that are identical except for their ageing? On the night, you’ll taste both and cast your vote: egg or barrel?
The Venue
Our winemaker, Alex, will be joined by Tom – artist, wine expert, and the creative mind who democratically designed the labels for this special edition. We are lucky he also works at The Winemakers Club, which you will see is the perfect backdrop for art, wine, and democratic debate.
What’s Included
Two tasting glasses of wine
Collect your 2024 South African Chenin Blanc case
Opportunity to taste through all Not Yet Named Wine vintages to date
Explore wines from The Winemakers Club
Join the vote: barrel or egg?
Bring friends – members and non-members are equally welcome
I would recommend pre-ordering food if you might get hungry; this also helps Tom and his team on the night. You can buy food using the link on this page or as a separate product on the Events page.
Tickets
Members: Free (ticket required)
Non-members: £10
We are really grateful to be one of the first groups to christen the private members area of The Winemakers Club. This is a more intimate venue so spaces are genuinely limited; please get your tickets early!
I can confirm there will not be a very large pig or a very large sandwich at the event (for the beady eyed of you who may have noticed those images on the event). However, Alex, I’m sure, will be happy to share these South African harvest stories on the night.
Collecting Your Case
By default, members’ cases will be ready for pick up at the event
Prefer delivery? UK shipping available for £15
Standard case: 3 × Concrete Egg + 3 × Barrel Chenin
Option to mix and match with other Not Yet Named wines, or save credit for future vintages - please let us know in advance
Any questions, ideas, musings - email Dee (dee@notyetnamedwineco.com)
